DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE
Note: This Movie recap was submitted by Shorif
The movie begins with Deadpool, who talks directly to the audience, saying he’s there to find Wolverine. Deadpool goes to Wolverine’s grave, digs it up, and looks for him, hoping Wolverine is still alive. However, when he opens the grave, he finds only Wolverine’s skeleton, realizing he’s truly dead. Disappointed, Deadpool sits down and talks to the skeleton, expressing how much he needs Wolverine. During this moment, several portals open, and many TVA agents appear, intending to capture Deadpool. Being who he is, Deadpool fights them off and defeats them. Afterward, he again talks to the audience, acknowledging that they might be confused about what’s happening, why he’s there, why he needs Wolverine, and why the TVA agents are after him.
To explain everything, Deadpool takes us back to 2018 when the time-travel device, originally from Cable, broke down. Once it was fixed, Deadpool took the device and started using it on his own. He traveled to the past and began killing all his old enemies. He even used it to save his friend Vanessa by killing her murderer, preventing her death. However, Deadpool’s actions caused problems in the timelines, which attracted the attention of the TVA. They started searching for Deadpool because of the timeline disruptions. Despite the timeline issues, Deadpool was happy because he saved Vanessa and gathered all his friends. He even visited Earth-616, the main universe in the MCU, and asked to become an Avenger. When they turned him down, he returned to his own universe and tried to live a normal life. One night, while his friends were celebrating Deadpool’s birthday, TVA agents showed up at the door.
When Deadpool went to see who was at the door, TVA agents grabbed him, dragged him into their portal, and brought him to the TVA headquarters. There, he met an officer named Paradox, who explained what the TVA is and how it operates. Deadpool realized that the TVA had taken him because he messed up the timelines by using the time machine. Paradox then offered Deadpool a deal: he could go to the MCU universe, Earth-616, and spend the rest of his life there. Deadpool was thrilled because he had always wanted to go to Earth-616 and become an Avenger. Excited, he had a new Deadpool suit made by a TVA tailor and was given two swords. Fully dressed and ready, Deadpool told Paradox he wanted to go back to his universe first to let his friends know that he was heading to Earth-616, where he hoped to prove himself.
Paradox immediately refuses Deadpool’s request to return to his universe, explaining that there’s no point because Deadpool’s universe is dying. He reveals that Deadpool’s universe is the one where Wolverine died and that it’s so damaged it will be completely destroyed in just three days. Deadpool, confused, asks why this is happening. Paradox explains that every universe has a source of power, and when that power is gone, the universe begins to die. In Deadpool’s universe, Wolverine was that power, and with his death, the universe is now ending. Deadpool urges Paradox to stop the destruction, but Paradox is indifferent. He reveals that he doesn’t want to prevent the destruction; instead, he wants it to happen. He even shows Deadpool a device called the Time Reaper Machine, which can destroy any universe instantly. Paradox explains that while the TVA usually allows universes to end gradually, he doesn’t enjoy that and prefers to see them end quickly.
Paradox expresses his desire to destroy the universe quickly instead of letting it die slowly, like cutting a tree at its roots. He explains that this is why he created the Time Reaper Machine, a device he built himself, to instantly end universes that are slowly fading. He tells Deadpool that once the machine is fully ready, he will use it to destroy Deadpool’s universe as well. He advises Deadpool to go to Earth-616 and forget about his old universe. Angry at this revelation, Deadpool decides that if Wolverine is the source of power for his universe, he’ll find another Wolverine to save it. With this plan in mind, he attacks Paradox, takes the device that creates TVA portals, and escapes. Deadpool uses the device to start searching for a new Wolverine across different universes. The flashback ends, and the story returns to where Deadpool was fighting TVA agents and defeating them. Deadpool continues his quest to find Wolverine, traveling to various universes. He encounters different versions of Wolverine, some small in height, others missing limbs or eyes, and even a superhero Wolverine. However, none of them are what he’s looking for, and in one case, a Wolverine version even fights and defeats Deadpool.
Deadpool goes to a bar and finds a version of Wolverine sitting there. He thinks this Wolverine is perfect to bring back to his universe. However, when Deadpool asks him to come along, this Wolverine refuses. After Wolverine passes out from drinking, Deadpool drags him to a portal and takes him directly to the TVA, presenting him to Paradox. Deadpool tells Paradox that he found another Wolverine and asks to be sent back to his universe so this Wolverine can be the new source of power, preventing the universe’s end. Paradox, upon seeing this Wolverine, tells Deadpool that this version is the worst, having caused the deaths of everyone in his own universe. He says this Wolverine can’t be the power for Deadpool’s universe. Paradox also scolds Deadpool for not taking the opportunity to go to Earth-616 and for killing many TVA agents. As punishment, Paradox sends both Deadpool and this Wolverine into a different world. When Wolverine wakes up, he angrily asks Deadpool why he brought him there and then attacks him, starting a fight between them.
Deadpool and Wolverine fight intensely for a while, but then Deadpool stops the fight and suggests they work together. He explains that the TVA wants to destroy his universe, and they need to save it. Initially, Wolverine refuses to help. However, Deadpool then tells him that the TVA has the power to revive his universe as well. If Wolverine helps, they can save both Deadpool’s universe and bring back Wolverine’s lost universe. Intrigued by this idea, Wolverine agrees to team up. As they plan their next move, a man approaches them and warns that they are in a dangerous area. He tells them about a giant, dangerous monster that will eat them if it finds them, and a hairless witch named Cassandra, who is so powerful she can kill them with a single shot. He advises them to be cautious because escaping from these threats is very difficult. Just then, cars arrive, carrying Cassandra’s people. The man who warned them removes the cloth from his face, revealing himself to be Captain America, who has taken on the powers of the Human Torch. Cassandra’s men confront them, led by a powerful old man. Wolverine quickly takes action and kills the old man with one strike.
The captors use advanced technology to weaken Human Torch’s powers, capture the group, and tie them up with ropes. They then take them to Cassandra, who resides inside the mouth of a gigantic Ant-Man. Cassandra has many followers who have served her for years, including a version of Juggernaut who is also under her control. When the three are brought before her, Cassandra appears. Deadpool mocks her, saying that Human Torch had warned them about her, calling her a crazy witch. He goes on to say that Human Torch described her as even worse. Angered by this, Cassandra uses her powers to strip the skin off Human Torch in one swift move, killing him. Cassandra then introduces herself to Deadpool and Wolverine, revealing that she is the twin sister of Professor Charles Xavier. She shares that even before they were born, she tried to kill her brother, and after they were born, her brother tried to kill her, but she survived. She explains that the TVA exiled her to this place, but she is happy living there. Cassandra then declares her intention to make Deadpool and Wolverine her slaves. Hearing this, Wolverine becomes very angry.
Wolverine, furious, attempts to attack Cassandra, but before he can reach her, she uses her powers to shoot him and throw him to the ground. Then a monster appears, and Cassandra tells Wolverine and Deadpool that they are no longer her concern and leaves them to face the monster alone. As the monster approaches them, Deadpool and Wolverine activate a nearby machine, which helps them escape to a distant location. There, they encounter a dog version of Deadpool, known as Dogpool, and another Deadpool variant named Nice Pool. Nice Pool explains that there are many other versions of Deadpool, but they are all controlled by Cassandra and work for her as slaves. Nice Pool offers them his car to help them escape. Deadpool and Wolverine take the car and drive away. However, during the ride, they get into an argument, which escalates into a fight.
Deadpool and Wolverine start fighting each other, but they eventually pass out from exhaustion. X-23 arrives and takes them both in the car. When Deadpool and Wolverine wake up, they find themselves in a house where Electra, Blade, Gambit, and X-23 meet them. These four explain that they were all sent to this universe by the TVA after being knocked out, and that Human Torch was also part of their group. Upon learning that Deadpool and Wolverine survived an encounter with Cassandra, the group realizes they must be very powerful. They decide to form a team and plan to take down Cassandra, who has been causing chaos in this universe. They prepare for the mission and then set off together in a car to confront her. When they arrive at Cassandra’s place, they are met by her enslaved followers, leading to a fierce battle. The group splits up, with Electra, Blade, Gambit, and X-23 staying outside to fight the followers, while Deadpool and Wolverine go inside to capture Cassandra.
Before confronting Cassandra, the group made a plan. They knew that while they could fight her followers, Cassandra herself was extremely powerful and could easily defeat them with her psychic abilities. To prevent her from using these powers, they needed to find a way to block them. They realized that wearing Magneto’s helmet would protect them from her psychic attacks. However, Cassandra had already destroyed Magneto’s helmet when it arrived in this universe. Deadpool then suggested they use the helmet from the Juggernaut, who was one of Cassandra’s enslaved followers. The plan was to take Juggernaut’s helmet and put it on Cassandra, preventing her from using her powers, so they could defeat her. During the fight, X-23 managed to cut off Juggernaut’s leg and toss his helmet to Deadpool. While Deadpool and Wolverine distracted Cassandra with their conversation, Deadpool took the opportunity to place the helmet on her head. This action prevented Cassandra from using her powers, allowing them to finish her off before she could react.
Everyone notices that one of Cassandra’s followers is trying to shoot her, saying that he’s been waiting for the moment to kill her. However, before he can shoot, Wolverine kills him. As Cassandra is dying in front of Deadpool and Wolverine, Wolverine tells her that even though she hated her brother, Charles Xavier, he always loved her. He says that if Charles knew she was still alive, he would have found her and taken her in because he’s always tried to do good in the world. Moved by these words, Cassandra becomes emotional. Wolverine then tells Deadpool to remove Juggernaut’s helmet from her head, expressing his desire to give her another chance to live. Deadpool is hesitant, fearing that Cassandra might kill them if the helmet is removed. However, Wolverine assures him that she won’t harm them, as he now trusts her. Following Wolverine’s advice, Deadpool removes the helmet, and Cassandra, indeed, does not attack them. Instead, she warns them that a monster is approaching and will destroy everything. She urges them to leave and return to their universe before it arrives. When they ask her how to escape, Cassandra points them to a puppet and mentions that there was once a magician there many years ago.
Cassandra explains that she killed the powerful magician who once lived there and kept his puppet, which can open portals to any location. She uses the puppet to open a portal, allowing Deadpool and Wolverine to jump through and return to their universe. After they leave, Cassandra approaches the man who tried to shoot her, who is still alive. She asks him why he did it, and he reveals that the TVA’s Paradox told him to kill her in exchange for being freed from this world. Hearing this, Cassandra becomes furious and opens a portal to Deadpool’s universe, where Paradox is located. She finds Paradox as he’s preparing to destroy the universe with the Time Reaper Machine. Cassandra reads Paradox’s mind and learns about the machine’s power. She devises a plan to use the machine to slowly destroy all universes and timelines, intending to be the ruler of the last remaining world. As she heads towards the Time Reaper Machine to execute her plan, Deadpool and Wolverine try to stop her. However, she easily defeats them with a single blow and continues with her mission.
Deadpool and Wolverine go to a character called Paradox to find out how to stop Cassandra. Paradox tells them that Cassandra is too powerful to stop directly, but they can destroy the machine she’s using. He explains that if they connect two specific wires in the machine, it will cause a massive short circuit, destroying the machine and Cassandra. However, the person who does this will also die because the explosion will be too powerful for anyone to survive, even those with healing abilities like Deadpool and Wolverine. Despite the danger, Deadpool and Wolverine decide to go ahead. Deadpool tricks Wolverine into a locked room so he can do it alone and save Wolverine. As Deadpool struggles with the wires, Wolverine breaks out and helps him. They connect the wires, causing a huge short circuit.
A powerful blast destroys the machine, killing Cassandra as well as Deadpool and Wolverine. However, after a short time, Deadpool and Wolverine revive and are perfectly fine. Paradox is shocked and asks how they survived. They explain that because they worked together, the explosion only had a partial effect on each of them, allowing them to heal and survive. They managed to short-circuit the machine from the inside, ending the threat. Cassandra had brought 100 versions of Deadpool with her, who fought and defeated everyone else. After the machine and Cassandra are dealt with, Hunter B-15 arrives with guards and arrests Paradox for creating a machine designed to destroy the universe. She tells Paradox that the TVA will punish him for his actions. She also expresses respect for Deadpool and Wolverine, saying that they saved other universes. Hunter B-15 tells Deadpool and Wolverine they can now live peacefully. Deciding to stay together like a family, Deadpool, Wolverine, and their group enjoy their lives happily.
In the post-credits scene, Deadpool breaks the fourth wall again and clarifies that Cassandra didn’t kill Human Torch because of anything he said. Rather, Cassandra overheard Human Torch’s harsh words about her being a “hairless witch” through a camera and killed him herself. Deadpool insists he had no part in Human Torch’s death, asking the audience not to misunderstand him. The movie ends with this clarification. , inviting viewers to share their thoughts in the comment box.
