Long Story Short

Imagine one day you wake up, and your life moves so fast that an entire year passes in just four minutes. That means a wedding happens in one minute, and a baby is born in two minutes. This is exactly what happens in today’s story.

The story begins at a New Year’s party where a man named Teddy goes to meet his girlfriend. Just before the countdown ends, he heroically kisses her. But in reality, the girl is not his girlfriend! He accidentally kisses a girl named Leanne. During the kiss, Teddy ends up swallowing some food that Leanne had eaten, which contains something he is allergic to. Because of this, he suddenly starts feeling unwell.

At that moment, Teddy’s actual girlfriend, Becka, arrives, but he does not tell her the truth. Meanwhile, Leanne brings medicine for Teddy, and after taking it, he starts feeling better. From that day on, Teddy breaks up with Becka and starts dating Leanne. Who knew a single kiss could change everything?

A few years later, Teddy proposes to Leanne, and she says yes. They go to Teddy’s father’s grave to share the good news. Teddy wishes he had done this earlier so that his father could have been there to celebrate with them.

After a while, a mysterious old woman appears and congratulates Teddy on his wedding. She asks when the wedding is happening, but Teddy says they haven’t decided on a date yet. The old woman advises him not to delay things too much because sometimes a whole year can disappear in the blink of an eye. She also promises to give him a special gift on his wedding day.

Two weeks later, Teddy and Leanne have a beautiful wedding. Teddy’s best friend Sam gives a heartfelt speech at the reception. After enjoying the party, Teddy and Leanne go to their newly bought home. Teddy tells Leanne that the ring he used to propose was handmade by his father for his mother.

Later, Teddy finds a small tin can with something inside and a note that says, “Do not open for 10 years.” Ignoring the warning, Teddy puts it aside and spends a lovely night with his wife.

The next morning, Teddy wakes up and is shocked to see that everything around him has changed. He feels lost and confused. When he sees that Leanne is pregnant, he is even more surprised. At first, he thinks she is playing a prank on him. But when he touches her belly, he realizes it is real.

Leanne doesn’t understand why Teddy is acting so weird. She shows him their wedding photos and tells him that today is their first wedding anniversary. She also says she has been pregnant for eight months. Leanne thinks Teddy is just pretending to be confused because he forgot their anniversary.

After that, Leanne gives him a colorful book as a gift and says, “You choose which color we will use for the child’s room.” But Teddy scolds her for talking too much. This makes Leanne very angry because Teddy always scolds her for talking too much. However, Teddy is not in the mood for a fight, so he chooses purple and decides to sleep for a while.

After getting up, Teddy sees that Leanne is no longer pregnant. He becomes very happy because he thinks he is still dreaming. But Leanne tells him, “Now what cast? Our child is in the other room.” When Teddy cannot understand, he takes out his phone, looks at photos of him and Leanne, and realizes that another year has passed.

Leanne brings the child to meet Teddy, even though Teddy had refused to hold him the first time. But, later he hold the child, Teddy believes that God has blessed the child, and seeing his child makes him very happy. However, he does not like his daughter’s name at all.

After that, Teddy tries to explain the situation to Leanne, but she does not understand anything. Instead, she begins to understand Teddy. She tells him, “Look, don’t do too little or too much. Because of this, everything happens. Now you forget your child, and tomorrow you will forget me too.” This time, he assures her that after earning some money he will leave the job.

They agree on this, and she gifts him a T-shirt with their photo on it. Teddy smells the perfume on the T-shirt and thinks, “They must have taken this photo during our honeymoon.” Hearing this, Leanne is shocked because they never go on a honeymoon, and once again, Teddy forgets his anniversary.

Teddy promises that he will never forget his anniversary, and he calls in the evening to set a reminder for the same day next year and asks for a gift. Then, in the blink of an eye, another year passes. When Sam comes to meet him, Teddy tries to explain everything, but he cannot remember anything. After coming home, he gives that gift to his daughter Talulah, and for the first time, she calls him “Daddy.” Hearing this, he becomes very happy, but Leanne tells him that it is not his first word—it is a word she repeats over and over.

Angrily, Leanne says that Teddy never gives time to his family. She reminds him that even their counsellor said the same thing. This makes Teddy realize that their relationship is not going well right now. Before leaving , Leanne gives Teddy a wallet as a gift.

Then, another year passes. Now, Sam arrives because the remainder rings again today. He tells Teddy that he and Leanne are now separated. As always, Teddy does not understand anything. In the meantime, Sam tries to talk about his problems, but Teddy completely ignores Sam’s problems and asks about Leanne.

Sam tells Teddy that her new house is just a short distance away. Teddy calls Leanne to wish her a happy anniversary, which surprises her. She asks him, “So, what is my gift today?” Without thinking too much, Teddy says, “Fruits! I have brought fresh fruits for you.” Somehow, his trick works, and Leanne agrees to come over. But just before he hangs up, Sam tells him to buy some fruits from the market in the evening. Leanne overhears this and gets angry. She cancels her visit and hangs up the phone.

Frustrated, Teddy walks towards the fridge, and just like that, another year passes. He sees a woman in his house and, thinking it is Leanne, kisses her. But in reality, she is his ex-girlfriend, Becka, whom he drunkenly texted the previous night and invited over. Becka is also feeling lonely after her divorce and wants to spend time with Teddy.

Unfortunately, Leanne arrives at that moment. Just before she enters, Teddy quickly hides Becka in the balcony. While talking, Leanne tells Teddy that she still loves him. Teddy, trying to be kind, forgives her and gives her a kiss. But then, Leanne notices a brown bra on the sofa, which makes her suspicious. Before she can ask, Becka shouts from inside, confirming her worst fear.

Seeing this, Leanne becomes furious and slaps Teddy. She immediately asks for a divorce. After she leaves, Teddy turns to Becka and says, “You should leave too, and never message me again.” But just then, another year passes in a second. Teddy is shocked to see that he is now living with Becka. He completely loses his mind.

Desperate, Teddy calls Sam and asks him to come over. Then, he breaks up with Becka and decides to leave because he still loves Leanne. Becka understands because deep down, she still misses her ex-husband too. She realizes that Teddy should go back to his wife.

A little later, Sam arrives to pick up Teddy. But when Teddy sees Sam, he is shocked by his condition. After a short conversation, Sam reveals that he has skin cancer. Sam assumes Teddy already knows, but Teddy’s confused questions make it clear that he has no idea. Annoyed, Sam says, “Don’t worry, I’m not dying yet! I’ll defeat cancer and live for another 50 years.”

After that, Teddy requests Sam to take him to Leanne’s house. When he arrives, Teddy sees Leanne’s dog and feels overjoyed. He also praises her home. Leanne thinks Teddy has signed the divorce papers. But when Teddy hears about the divorce, he refuses to sign. Seeing his reaction, Leanne tells him to leave. But as soon as Teddy takes a step back, another year passes, and he suddenly falls into a pond that was not there before. Hearing the noise, a man named Patrick opens the door and tells Teddy to leave. He says that from now on, Teddy can only come to see Talulah, not Leanne.

When Leanne comes outside, Teddy realizes that she and Patrick are now together. When she finds out that Teddy has not signed the divorce papers yet, she tries to push him out. But Teddy refuses to leave and starts arguing with Patrick. Patrick tells him that Leanne is happy without him. Hearing this, Teddy feels heartbroken. He also notices that Leanne has even sold the ring he gave her. Feeling completely defeated, he finally signs the divorce papers and walks away.

He goes to the beach, and while sitting there, another year passes. Now, Teddy’s beard has grown long, and his dog, Poppy, has become much bigger. Suddenly, an 8-year-old girl arrives—it is Talulah. Seeing her, Teddy becomes very happy and spends the whole day with her. While dropping her home, Teddy advises her to always chase her dreams. In return, Talulah says that she wants to spend more time with him.

Just then, Leanne arrives and sees Teddy. She tells him that his beard does not look good and that he should shave it. Teddy promises he will. When he asks about Patrick, Leanne says their relationship did not work out, and they have separated.

Before leaving, Teddy suddenly remembers that he forgot to wish Leanne a happy anniversary. But before he can say anything, another year passes. After that, Teddy tries to call Sam, but his phone is switched off. He checks Facebook and finds out that Sam has passed away due to skin cancer. This news breaks his heart, and he rushes to Sam’s grave, regretting that he never spent enough time with his true friend.

At that moment, the mysterious old woman appears again. She reveals that she is the one who cursed Teddy as a gift—to make him understand the value of time. After saying this, she disappears.

Realizing his mistakes, Teddy runs to Leanne and apologizes. They both say sorry to each other and decide to be together again. Suddenly, Teddy’s life rewinds, and he finds himself back on the day of his wedding.

This time, when he wakes up, the tin can is still there, but it is completely empty. He goes straight to Leanne, kisses her, and starts fixing all his past mistakes. Teddy decides to give the can to Becka, so she can also learn her lesson.
